The work continues on the ground
A bundle of branches over one shoulder. Someone cutting timber nearby. A chipper sending a stream of chips onto an already substantial pile. These photographs catch the part of tree work that is easy to miss when you are looking up.

Carrying branches and cutting timber among the vegetation.
Down among the branches
In one photograph, a worker carries branches while a colleague cuts a log beside him. There is vegetation all around them and more timber on the ground. It is a busy scene, even with nobody up a tree in the frame.
Another view takes us over to the chipper. The machine is in the foreground, the chip pile beside it, with more of the team visible beyond. You can follow the work across the picture.

Handling material beside the chipper.
The people in the wider view
The climbing shots tend to draw the eye first. This selection gives some space to the people at ground level and the equipment around them. There is plenty happening here, too.
These are photographs from the working archive, rather than a before-and-after account of one property. Zak’s notes will help put names to the faces and fill in the stories behind the individual pictures.
